    As shared by Carlie Herring at our workshop last week, there is a position open to support the Marine Debris Division with citizen science data collection. The position description is below.

Position Announcement
The new position of Marine Debris Monitoring Coordinator, supporting the US NOAA Marine Debris Program through Genwest Systems, Inc., has just been posted.

This position will work from NOAA offices in Seattle, WA to support Marine Debris Program staff in managing the NOAA Marine Debris Monitoring and Assessment Project (MDMAP), a citizen science initiative that engages NOAA partners and volunteers to survey and record the amount and types of marine debris on shorelines. They will also support the MDP Science Team on additional projects and tasks as needed (e.g., grant reviews, literature reviews, strategic planning support, community outreach).

The position will remain open until filled, but priority will be given to applications received on or before May 8, 2020.
