2020 JPIM Research Forum
Competitive Edge: Innovation in the Connected Age
The 2020 Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM)
Research Forum, powered by the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA), seeks paper and poster submissions from scholars from all disciplines who share a common
interest in new product development and innovation management. The conference will offer networking opportunities with innovation scholars, practitioners, the JPIM’s new editorial team and the PDMA community. Full papers, special topics proposals and early
stage work are all welcome.

The 2020 JPIM Research Forum Co-chairs welcome submissions regarding all
aspects of new product development (NPD) and innovation management, in the following tracks:

Submissions from all academic areas, methodological approaches, and regions of the world are welcome.

The 2020 JPIM Research Forum will consider the following types of submissions:
a)
Competitive papers: fully developed papers, up to 20 pages (including figures, tables and references). If accepted, these papers will be presented in a regular parallel
session.
b)
Developmental Papers: early-stage papers, up to 10 pages (including figures, tables and references). Authors should describe the key research questions, why they are important, key theories, plans for data collection and
analysis, and expected contribution to theory and practice. If accepted,
these papers
will be
discussed in
a round-table
developmental session
with other
authors and expert innovation scholars, to offer valuable feedback for further development. Hence, Authors are invited to answer the question “What help do I need with this paper?” in the conclusion section of their
paper.
c)
Special Sessions: The JPIM Research Forum welcomes submissions for Special Sessions on topical
aspects of
innovation theory,
novel and
useful methods,
or unique
datasets. A
special session proposal
brings together
a group
of scholars
interested in
the same
topic and
is evaluated
as a
whole. A special session proposal should include: title of the special session, a brief description of the session theme and why it is relevant, title and abstract of each presentation (up to five), names, affiliations, and publication list of key
speakers.
d)
Posters: up to 5 pages (including figures, tables and references). These submissions, if accepted, will be presented as a
poster.
