The U.S. Midwest Chapter of the Academy of International Business (AIB), the world’s leading association of international business scholars, will hold its Annual Conference in 2020 in Chicago in conjunction with the 55^th annual meeting of its affiliated organization, MBAA International.

AIB provides a platform for academicians, researchers, industry experts, and students to present their quality research in all fields related to international business. This year’s conference is themed for the international business challenges of today.

“International business is currently passing through a period of unprecedented, radical change. Global connectivity and the relatively free movement of almost everything--ideas, goods, people, money--all are now being challenged. Long-settled methods of conducting cross-border business are certain to change. But how? International business, of course, will go on, and it is up to the international business academy to study the drivers of change and shine a light into the future. ACCEPTED PAPER SUBMISSIONS DUE: February 15, 2020

AIB invites scholars, students and international business practitioners to submit their

full length papers
papers on research-in-progress
abstracts of works
case studies.

Selected submissions will be assigned an appropriate conference track, published in the conference proceedings and submitted to the Journal of International Business Research and Practice (JIBRP) http://www.aib-midwest.org/jibrp.html. The JIBRP, which is cited in Cabell’s, generally accepts approximately 25% of the papers submitted. Award-winning papers in both the regular and student tracks will be published in the JIBRP. Other papers to be published in the JIBRP will be competitively selected by the journal’s editorial board, and authors will be invited to submit revised papers (if needed) based on feedback and comments received at the AIB-Midwest conference.

All submissions will qualify for the following conference awards:

Outstanding Paper
Best Reviewer
Best Student Paper, eligible for publication in the Journal of International Business Research and Practice
MBAA McGraw-Hill/Irwin Award

Only papers with at least one author registered for the conference will be included in the proceedings.

Note: Conference registrants may also choose to attend sessions of other MBAA member groups and disciplines, including Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Legal, Case Research and Management.

Paper Development Workshop: A paper development workshop (PDW) will be held by senior scholars and editors of leading journals. The purpose of the PDW is to provide feedback to junior scholars and doctoral students on their research projects that are in early stages of development. We encourage authors to submit their original work under two categories – full-length papers and idea papers. Full-length papers should not be more than 10,000 words in length, while paper ideas should not be more than 1000 words in length. Please note that participation at the PDW is limited. Participants will be invited based on the quality of their submitted work.
