Paper Development Workshop (PDW)

AIB Annual Meeting, Miami, USA

Thursday, 2 July 2020

Submission deadline: 28 February 2020
________________________________

International Business Review is one of the leading international journals in the field of international business, and the IBR Editorial Team will be scheduling an IBR Paper Development Workshop (IBR-PDW) as part of the pre-conference programme of the AIB Annual Meeting (AIB 2020) taking place in Miami, USA on 2-6 July 2020.

The purpose of the IBR-PDW is to provide junior scholars with developmental feedback on their current research projects in international business studies. While we hope that many of these papers will be eventually submitted to IBR, the purpose of the PDW is broader: to improve the quality of IB research and bring new scholars into the IB field. We particularly welcome original papers from early career researchers or junior faculty members who have not previously published or do not normally publish in International Business Review.

The IBR-PDW will begin with an introduction by Roger Strange, IBR Associate Editor. The participants will then be divided into two sub-panels, and detailed feedback on each paper will be provided by two of the following IBR Editors: Agnieszka Chidlow (University of Birmingham, UK), Fang Lee Cooke (Monash University, Australia), Pervez Ghauri (University of Birmingham, UK), Xiaohui Liu (University of Birmingham, UK), Roger Strange (University of Sussex, UK) and Antonella Zucchella (University of Pavia, Italy). The panellists will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each paper, with the aim of providing robust yet constructive feedback to the authors so that they can improve their papers to the standard required for IBR publication. The 2020 IBR-PDW will be held between 2pm and 6pm on Thursday 2 July at the Florida International University downtown campus as part of the pre-conference activities taking place before the formal start of the AIB 2020 conference.

Prospective participants in the 2020 IBR-PDW are invited to submit their paper manuscripts via the AIB submission system by Friday 28 February 2020 (https://meetings.aib.msu.edu/jpdws/2020/). Please note that each participant may make only one submission for the IBR-PDW. All authors should indicate their names, e-mails, and affiliations, on the cover page of the manuscript. Papers must be less than 10,000 words in length, and should follow the IBR Guide for Authors:

Participation at the IBR-PDW is limited to 10 papers. Participants will be selected based on the quality of their submitted work, and will be notified about the acceptance of their submissions no later than 22 March. Successful participants will be required to confirm their participation by 31 March, and they will then be invited to submit a revised manuscript (i.e. the version to be discussed at the IBR-PDW) by 1 June.

NOTE: Participants must be registered for the AIB 2020 meeting before they confirm their attendance at the IBR-PDW (https://www.aib.world/events/2020-miami/).
