MS Position: Lake Trout – Kokanee interactions in New Fork Lakes, WY

A M.S. graduate research assistantship is available within the Fetzer Lab at Department of Zoology and Physiology at the University of Wyoming. I am seeking an independent and motivated individual to design and conduct research on Lake Trout – Kokanee interactions in New Fork Lakes, WY. Research will focus on evaluating Lake Trout consumption of Kokanee and the capacity of New Fork Lakes to continue as the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s primary broodstock for early-run Kokanee across Wyoming. The successful candidate will work closely with the primary investigator, Dr. William Fetzer, and the Wyoming Game & Fish Department.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in fisheries, ecology, biology, or a related field with competitive undergraduate GPA (>3.0). Experience with gillnetting, diet/stable isotope analyses, and/or bioenergetics modeling preferred. Anticipated start date is summer 2020.

Stipend:  $1370/mo. plus tuition and health benefits
