Hi Jim,

You may not remember me, but my name is Kelsey Lincoln. I graduated in 2010 with a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife. I remember meeting you at orientation many …many years ago. I am a fisheries biologist down here in North Carolina now working for the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. I loved my time and all the staff and students at Michigan State so much, I feel very lucky I was able to spend part of my life there. I wanted to reach out and share a few positions (see below) we have open here for folks who have recently completed their graduate degrees. I know that you work a lot with undergraduates, but I was hoping you could send these job notifications to the right people?

Both of these positions offer opportunities to work with our anadromous fish (Striped Bass, river herring, American and Hickory Shad) as well as other popular sportfish (Largemouth Bass, Crappie, etc) and invasive catfish (Flathead Catfish and Blue Catfish). The biologists on the coast also work with our Division of Marine Fisheries to develop plans for shared fisheries. As a state agency we do a lot of monitoring of populations but we also do a lot of research, so there are many opportunities for biologists to kind of choose the path for the district they are working in.

Let me know if you have any questions and if anyone is interested and wants to inquire about the job they can call my office.

I hope all is well! I hope to visit MSU this year when I come home for Christmas.

Go Green!

Kelsey
