Title:  Evaluation and continued development of long-term monitoring strategies for the St Clair-Detroit rivers system

Responsibilities: This project will aid the St. Clair-Detroit River System Initiative (SCDRS) Science and Monitoring Committees to continue development and implementation of the SCDRS Monitoring Plan. The researcher will assist university and government scientists with research to inventory and evaluate past and present monitoring programs, development of a conceptual framework aimed toward implementing a long-term environmental monitoring program, and other duties related to ecosystem research and monitoring in the SCDRS.  There may be additional opportunity to contribute to basin-wide efforts to improve post-restoration monitoring programs.

Qualifications: Ph.D. (earned or all but degree); demonstrated record of data analysis, publishing in peer-reviewed academic journals, and oral communication; familiarity with adaptive management principles as applied to fisheries and ecosystem management; familiarity with collective impact principles; demonstrated ability to work with a diverse interdisciplinary team of scientist; possess a valid passport and driver’s license.
