Introduction

Business performance is a critical issue today in an era of global hypercompetition. Organizations of all sizes must be concerned with operational and human productivity which form the backbone of business performance as well as national prosperity per Drucker (2002) and economic growth per OECD (2015). As such, cultural factors play a key role which include issues such as Geert Hofstede's six dimensions of national culture: Power Distance, Uncertainty Avoidance, Individualism/Collectivism, Masculinity/Femininity, Long/Short Term Orientation, and Indulgence/Restraint. This publication ties all of these components together and places them in one volume for the reader to consider regarding future research directions in a variety of business-related fields like operations management, productivity improvement, human resources management, and organizational effectiveness.

Objective

This book should be published because it enhances work already completed in the field in 2012; namely, "Cultural Variations and Business Performance: Contemporary Globalism". The other proposed topics not covered in this 2012 book will add value to the fields of productivity and business performance within the context of cultural influences.

Target Audience

The primary target for this publication is scholars and practitioners who are interested in how national culture influences business performance and productivity in global hypercompetition. The secondary target is graduate students with the same interests.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before November 25, 2019, a chapter proposal no more than 1,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by November 27, 2019 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by December 15, 2019, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are NO submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Managerial Strategies for Navigating Economic Nationalism. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.
