TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT

The Amsterdam Business School (ABS) <https://abs.uva.nl/>  is located in the heart of Amsterdam, the cultural and financial capital of the Netherlands, which offers a cosmopolitan living environment with excellent connections to the rest of the world. The University of Amsterdam (UvA) <http://www.english.uva.nl>  is a broad-based research-driven university dating back to 1632 with an enrollment of over 30,000 students. Rankings by the Times (THES) and QS put UvA in the top 100 universities world-wide. Within UvA, ABS offers executive, graduate and undergraduate programs in accounting, finance, management, marketing and strategy. ABS is triple-crown accredited (AACBS, AMBA, EQUIS). Most of the teaching takes place in small seminar-sized groups. ISM is the largest department at ABS, home to around 40 faculty members from different international backgrounds in addition to PhD students, post-docs and affiliated faculty.

This position is housed within the International Strategy and Marketing (ISM) department, which incorporates the tracks of International Management, Marketing and Strategy. The ISM group is one of the most research-active teams in ABS, with scholars publishing in top International Business (IB) and International Management (IM) journals and active in editorial boards in a variety of international academic journals and organizations. The IB/IM faculty has internationally recognized expertise in corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, innovation, offshoring, sustainable development, emerging economies, and location-specific versus international strategies.

Job description

We are interested in candidates in International Management in general, but we are also especially interested in those candidates whose research agendas link up with ongoing research at our department. An ability to teach in executive programs and/or to contribute to corporate strategy and corporate governance topics would be an advantage. The anticipated starting date is September 2020 but an earlier start is possible.

Requirements

We are interested in candidates with clear expertise in International Management (IM) or International Business (IB), who:

*	hold a PhD in IB or IM (or be close to finishing);
*	have a clear research portfolio in IM/IB, and preferably already (forthcoming) publications in reputable journals;
*	take their teaching seriously with proven ability in teaching IM/IB at the undergraduate and graduate level;
*	are ambitious team players with good ability to work individually and with a team.

Appointees at the assistant professor level will be offered a tenure track position for six years. Upon meeting the tenure track criteria, a permanent contract as Associate professor will be offered. Salary will be in accordance with Dutch academic salary scales, include a pension scheme, and range between €3,637 to €5,656 gross per month, dependent on experience and track record of the candidate. A temporary reduction in income tax (equal to 30% of taxable salary) may apply to non-Dutch candidates.The Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities <https://www.vsnu.nl/cao-universiteiten.html>  is applicable.
