Qualifications: 

Excellence in research and teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level is expected. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in International Business as well as selected courses in other complementary disciplines. All applicants are required to: 

  • Possess a doctorate from an accredited university and be academically qualified under AACSB standards. Terminal degree must be awarded by date of appointment. 
  • Demonstrate concrete evidence of research publications or strong potential for the research publications. 
  • Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience. 
  • Demonstrate an ability to work in a collegial atmosphere as part of a team, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 


Besides the required qualifications, all applicants should have the following preferred qualifications: 

  • Possess expertise and/or knowledge in global business strategy, international trade, and investment. 
  • For those with teaching experience, demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence. 
  • Exhibit a commitment to interact effectively with the Silicon Valley business community. 
  • Emphasize pragmatic teaching applications, ideally enhanced by industry experience. 


Responsibilities: 

The appointee will teach undergraduate and graduate courses from foundation through advanced in the International Business field. The appointee will share in student advising, advising the student club, curriculum development, and service responsibilities including program assessment. Effectiveness in academic assignments, including service to students and University, and a record of research and/or professional achievement which are defined in the University Retention/Tenure/Promotion guidelines is required to achieve tenure and promotion. Candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic preparation – through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies and advisement. 


Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Starting Date: August 13, 2020
