Our research group (goheenresearchgroup.com) at the University of Wyoming seeks a creative, dedicated graduate student to develop thesis or dissertation research in collaboration with an NSF-funded project in Laikipia, Kenya. The successful applicant would join a team of U.S. and Kenyan collaborators to study how diet specialization and dispersal limitation shape emergent, community-level patterns through the Ungulate Herbivory Under Rainfall Uncertainty (UHURU) experiment. The successful applicant would spend 6-8 months/year at the Mpala Conservancy (mpala.org) and elsewhere in rural Kenya.

Desired qualifications
--excellent skills in written and oral communication
--experience with (or strong desire to learn) demographic analyses, occupancy modeling, analyses of diet selection, analyses of remotely-sensed imagery, and/or generalized linear modeling.
--experience overseeing field crews.
--experience operating and maintaining 4WD trucks.
--(for PhD applicants) an MSc or demonstrated ability to complete scientific projects, preferably in the form of peer-reviewed publications.
