Join the Ingham County Health Department's award-winning AmeriCorps State Program this fall! If you're passionate about food access, nutrition, social justice, and civic engagement we want you
to join our team from October 14, 2019 - September 21, 2020.
The ICHD AmeriCorps State Program places members at non-profit organizations, government agencies, and faith-based institutions to work directly with the community in areas of food access and healthy lifestyles programming.
As an ICHD AmeriCorps State member you'll gain first-hand experience in coordinating local food system programs, build a network within National Service, and expand your professional skills.

Members will:

Coordinate & manage food distributions
-
Plan & facilitate nutrition, gardening, and exercise workshops
-
Manage community gardens
-
Grow fresh, culturally appropriate produce for distribution

Link gardeners with resources so they can successfully grow their own food

Recruit, train, and lead volunteers

Full-time members :
-
Serve 1700 hours = 36 hours/week

Living stipend of $13,992
-
Health, dental and vision coverage

Student loan forbearance for eligible student loans
-
Interest accrual repayment for eligible student loans
-
Education award of $6,095 upon successful completion of service
|
Part-time members:
-
Serve 900 hours = 20-25 hours/week

Living stipend of $6,996

Student loan forbearance for eligible student loans

Interest accrual repayment for eligible student loans

Education award of $3,047.50 upon successful completion of service
