The Harold Hamm School of Geology and Geological Engineering is seeking an instructor starting fall 2019.

The Harold Hamm School of Geology and Geological Engineering provides an exciting and inspiring intellectual community dedicated to learning about and sharing an understanding of geological processes, environments, and resources. Undergraduate degree programs are offered in areas of Environmental Geoscience, Earth Science, Geology, and Geological Engineering. Graduate degree programs are offered in the areas of Geological Engineering, and Geology. Our academic programs and research provide a balance of theoretical and practical, hands-on experiences that prepare students for academic careers, further study, and employment in a variety of industries.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will teach a 65% load of geology undergraduate courses via both face-to-face and online format. 35% of the effort will be dedicated to facilitating other faculty in the school with online course delivery and online course development.

Competencies:

  *   Excellent verbal communication skills, including evidence of the ability to teach and inspire students
  *   Demonstrated ability to work with and engage diverse students in introductory geology courses
  *   Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and faculty

Minimum Requirements:


  *   Completion of a Master’s degree in Geology or a closely related field
  *   Demonstrated teaching effectiveness (face to face and online) and online course delivery
  *   Successful completion of criminal history records check

Preferred Qualifications:


  *   Completion of a PhD degree in Geology
  *   Experience teaching the topics of intro geology, global warming, environmental geology, computer applications in geology, structural geology, and other courses as needed.
