Since 1992, hundreds of business faculty have participated and returned home with much inspiration and practical tools and resources to revamp their teaching in the annual International Business Pedagogy Workshops. Sponsored by a consortium of CIBERs and the U.S. Department of Education, this faculty development program is heavily subsidized.

Why not invest in your professional development by participating in the 2019 International Business Pedagogy Workshops hosted by Georgia State University CIBER? This year’s event is scheduled for May 30 - June 2, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia.

You will be exposed to world-class master teachers who will address content, pedagogy, and resources for teaching international business. You will also meet others passionate about teaching and schedule one-on-one sessions with master teachers. You will leave with a rich bundle of teaching materials you can put to use in your classroom!

Plenary workshops:

  *   Teaching Effectiveness: What Does Research Show?
  *   Designing and Teaching the Introductory IB Course
  *   Insights from Master Teachers (featuring seasoned IB educators)
  *   Instructional Technology and Resources for Teaching IB
  *   The Fourth Industrial Revolution & Imperatives for Pedagogy
 Parallel thematic workshops:

  *   Introduction to International Business
  *   International Management
  *   Essentials of International Finance for IB Educators
  *   International Entrepreneurship
  *   International Marketing
 Bonus workshops:

  *   Research in International Business; Teaching Pedagogy; and Pedagogical Solutions for Employability and Success
One-on-One Mentoring Sessions with Master Teachers

  *   Scheduled individually
Poster sessions

Thanks to the sponsorship of CIBERs, the early-bird registration fee is $699 and covers most meals, coffee breaks, and teaching resources. Application deadline for early bird admission is: April 30, 2019. Several faculty fellowships are available, reducing the registration fee to $400. These are awarded on a first-come-first served basis.

Globalization Workshops are designed to help U.S. business faculty bring international context into the classroom and to expand their classroom knowledge and skills.


Early arriving participants may enjoy several cultural experiences in Atlanta, including The World of Coca-Cola and the world-renowned Georgia Aquarium. 


The International Business Pedagogy Workshops are a project of the Minority Serving Institution (MSI) Consortium, hosted by GSU-CIBER and sponsored by CIBERs at Florida International University, George Washington University, Indiana University, Loyola Marymount University, Temple University, Texas A&M University, University of Colorado-Denver, University of Maryland.
