Dear Colleagues,

I would like to invite you to submit a chapter to The Handbook of Qualitative Research Methods in Workplace Contexts (Edward Elgar). The handbook is edited by Associate Professor Joanna Crossman (University of South Australia; International College of Management Sydney) and Associate Professor Sarbari Bordia (Australian National University).

The edited handbook sets out to provide a comprehensive treatment of contemporary qualitative research methodologies, both those that are widely used and others that are emerging. Capitalising on the knowledge and perspectives of experienced researchers, the text also focuses on innovative directions for the future, including, methodological blends, influence of transdisciplinary work and challenges in novel contexts, culturally and internationally.

Qualitative methods covered in the edited book may include (but not limited to) Grounded theory, Ethnography, Case studies, and Discourse Analysis. We also welcome novel approaches that researchers may have tried in the workplace context.

For each methodology, we wish to publish an initial chapter presenting the particular methodology. We call this the 'anchor chapter'. Followed by this, we hope to publish two to three chapters that highlight any dilemmas and challenges that arose in implementing the methodology. Some potential challenges may include implementation of a methodology in a novel context, challenges with analysis of the data, and convincing reviewers of the rigours of the methodological implementation. Chapters should be 8000 words or less.

If you are interested in contributing to this Handbook, please email the editors (Joanna Crossman: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>[log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>; Sarbari Bordia: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) with a 500 word abstract by May 31st 2019.

Successful authors will be notified within three weeks of the above date and will be asked to submit the first draft of the chapter by August 31st 2019. Reviewer comments will be sent to authors within three weeks of this date and the final draft of the chapter is expected by January 31st 2020. All submitting authors will be expected to review 1-2 chapters each.

We look forward to reading your abstracts and chapters. Please feel free to forward this email to your colleagues who may be interested.

Regards,

Joanna Crossman and Sarbari Bordia
