Dear Scholars,

Following the successful launch of its first annual meeting, the Mediterranean and African Finance & Accounting  Association (MEAFA) is pleased to invite submissions of high-quality empirical and theoretical research papers for its 2019 Summer Meeting (2019 MEAFA Summer Meeting), to be held on July 17-18-19, 2019, at the Concorde Les Berges du Lac in Tunis, the Capital of Tunisia. The Second Conference aims to spur research, exchange of ideas and knowledge dissemination between academics, professionals and policy makers on mobilizing sustainable finance & accounting and fintech-powered business innovations to promote sustainable and inclusive development of the economy and society.

In addition to the regular academic sessions, MEAFA will hold two workshops, one on the governance of banks and state-owned enterprises and the other on digital currencies. Experts with renowned international reputation will be invited to discuss the next evolution of money and the challenges of central and conventional banks.

The topics relevant to the conference include but are not limited to theoretical and empirical papers dealing with:

·       Corporate governance, bank governance, and the governance of state-owned enterprises

·       Role of financial intermediaries in promoting sustainable and inclusive economy

·       Corporate social responsibility

·       Corporate policies: dividends, investments, R&D, cash holdings, and risk management

·       IFRS reporting

·       Semantically rich reporting (XML and XBRL): Costs and benefits

·       Earning management

·       Digital finance & accounting

·       Financial Inclusions systems: Mobile Banking, Micropayments, & cryptocurrencies

·       Digital currencies: benefits and challenges

·       Asset pricing

·       Credit ratings: Credit analysis and ratings

·       Corporate innovations

·       Corporate debt in emerging and advanced economies

·       Default risk in real estate and household debt

·       Securitization and market for distressed assets

·       Ethical & Islamic Finance

·       Sustainable Finance

Research papers and case studies in related topics will also be considered.

Submission Procedure

In order to be considered for conference presentation, original and completed manuscripts in English and in PDF format must be submitted by email to [log in to unmask] no later than April 25, 2019. The PDF manuscript should begin with a title page that includes the names, e-mail addresses, and affiliations of all authors as well as a 200-word abstract and key words. Associated Journal:

In consultation with the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Accounting Auditing and Finance, authors of selected papers will be invited to submit their papers to a regular issue of this journal.
