Journal of International Business Policy (JIBP)

Special Issue Guidelines

JIBP is the new sister journal to the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) published by Palgrave Macmillan and the Academy of International Business (www.jibp.net <http://www.jibp.net> ). Positioned at the intersection between international business and public policy, JIBP publishes articles that identify novel policy issues and dilemmas related to international business. These include but are not limited to policies for:

*         international business promotion,

*         foreign business attraction,

*         industrial policy,

*         social and development policy,

*         transnational governance.

JIBP Special Issues address under‐researched topics, and new emerging policy issues in international business. Special Issues should encourage new streams of insightful and influential research, in line with the JIBP Statement of Editorial Policy. The JIBP Editors welcome in particular Special Issue proposals that connect mainstream research performed within the IB community and streams of research on IB-related policy issues developed in related disciplines.

Proposals for a Special Issue to be published in 2021 should be submitted by 1 June 2019. The team of Guest Editors for a Special Issue should be diverse, and will typically include at least one JIBP Editor. The proposals will be assessed by the Editor‐in‐Chief in consultation with the editorial team. The Guest Editors would be expected to contribute a substantive editorial paper, but they cannot be co-authors of any other papers in the issue. All submissions must comply with the AIB Journals Code of Ethics.

The Special Issue proposal must contain the following:

A proposal should be approximately 3 pages long, excluding references and bios or CVs, which can be added in an appendix. The proposal should include the proposed Guest Editors (with bios or CVs attached to the appendix) and a Call for Papers, which should include a provisional title, the justification for the topic, the objectives and scope of the Special Issue, and a list of core questions to be addressed. The editors would also welcome any evidence that the Special Issue will attract relatively broad interest and receive meaningful citations.

The Special Issue can be linked to a Paper Development Workshop or a conference, but it must remain open to submissions from authors not able to attend these events.
