Position Available: Entry-Level Environmental Scientist or Geologist

Triterra is a professional environmental consulting firm specializing in brownfield development, environmental consulting, and natural resource management services. We are currently seeking an Entry-level, Environmental Scientist or Geologist with 0-2 years of experience to join our Lansing, Michigan office.



The primary role of this job will be to provide support to our Environmental Due Diligence and Natural Resource Management groups. Our Environmental Due Diligence group provides routine environmental assessments in support of property transactions (purchase, refinance, foreclosure, etc.). Our Natural Resource Management group provides services that support the safe use of our natural resources (wetland delineations, stormwater evaluations, threatened and endangered species surveys, river/lake/stream assessments, etc.).



Responsibilities:



➢ Provide assistance on environmental due diligence and natural resource projects

➢ Perform Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessment activities in support of property transactions

➢ Conduct field work, including oversight of soil borings, soil/groundwater/soil-gas/surface water/sediment sampling, wetland delineations, stormwater assessments/studies, and asbestos inspections

➢ Provide general environmental support to project managers and clients, including on-site assistance, as needed

➢ Compile and evaluate data and assist in report preparation

➢ Perform project tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables

➢ Support Triterra project managers in delivering exceptional client value on projects



Job Requirements:

➢ Minimum of a BS in environmental science, geology, hydrology, biology, or related scientific field

➢ Excellent technical writing skills and problem-solving abilities

➢ Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat

➢ Experience with GIS, AutoCad, natural resources, and/or plant identification is preferred

➢ Able to work from our main office located in Lansing, Michigan

➢ Must be able to pass background check, drug test, and provide official transcripts and references

➢ Possession of a current State issued driver’s license
