Journal of Management Studies/Journal of World Business

Paper Development Workshop
Copenhagen, Denmark
June 23, 2019

CALL FOR PAPERS

Submission Deadline: February 10, 2019

The Journal of Management Studies and Journal of World Business are collaborating to host a joint paper development workshop at the Academy of International Business, Copenhagen, Denmark. The PDW will take place on the afternoon of June 23rd.

The purpose of the PDW is to provide developmental feedback to scholars and doctoral students on research projects that are at relatively advanced stages of development and encourage them to further develop quality research papers on issues that are of relevance to JMS, JWB, and other high-quality management and international business journal outlets.

The workshop will be led by the Journal of Management Studies and Journal of World Business senior editorial teams: JMS General Editor Igor Filatotchev, JMS Senior Associate Editor Jonathan Doh, and JWB Editor-in-Chief Ajai Gaur, along with other established scholars from JMS's and JWB's editorial team. The workshop will include presentations by senior scholars on publishing strategies and techniques and in-depth feedback on selected papers. The event will take place in conjunction with the AIB pre-conference activities on 23 June 2019.

The PDW will be structured to provide extensive feedback to authors whose research papers have been accepted by the workshop organizers. Only a limited number of manuscripts will be accepted for the PDW. Participants will be invited based on the quality and potential intellectual contribution of their submitted work.

Submission Instructions:
We encourage authors to submit their original work under two categories: full-length papers (maximum of 10,000 words) and "idea" papers (maximum of 2,000 words). Papers previously submitted to JMS, JWB or other journals, that were not successful in the review process, are welcome for the PDW. We can accommodate up to about 20 papers for this event.

Please submit your papers in word format by February 10 through the AIB submission system. Please name the file by the last name and first name of the participating author. Decisions and information on lodging options and logistics will be conveyed to applicants by March 4.

We are excited about this new initiative and we look forward to sharing our editorial experience and feedback.

NOTE: Participants must be registered for the AIB 2019 meeting to attend the JMS/JWB Paper Development Workshop.
