Subject: Graduate Assistant position at UF in conservation criminology

Greetings!

I am pleased to announce an opportunity for a Graduate Assistantship at the University of Florida (UF) in the Department of Sociology and Criminology & Law with a focus on conservation or green criminology. This graduate student will simultaneously earn a degree in Criminology, Law & Society (CLS) while engaging in applied conservation criminology research to reduce illegal ivory and wildlife trafficking and build capacity related to research, data analysis, and wildlife crime prevention approaches with counterparts in Zambia. Students with a MA or MS are preferred but those with a BA or BS with qualifying experience will also be considered.

Attached is a letter outlining the opportunity including a description of the GA position, specific responsibilities, minimum and preferred qualifications, compensation, and how to apply. Review of applicants and remote interviews will start December 1st and continue until filled. The departmental deadline for submission of all application materials for fall 2019 is January 15, 2019. Please direct all questions and initial application materials at outlined in the letter to Dr. Jessica Kahler ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).
