There are many important details that you need to know in order to help make your experience a success. Make sure you read the details below and all the attachments. All information can be found on the SIRC CAREER EXPO
website.
CAREER EXPO XL will be held on Tuesday, November
6, 2018 at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center followed by interviews, Wednesday,
November 7, 2018 at Spartan Stadium.
I.
CAREER
EXPO XL is our annual hospitality
specific career fair. Companies will have a booth in the Big Ten Rooms at the Kellogg Center. Company recruiters will be available to network and determine whether you will be a good fit for their company. To do this, they will look at your resume and determine
whether they would like to interview you. Companies are interviewing in order to hire for internships and permanent jobs. If you are a good match, they will sign you up for an interview while you are at their booth.

II.
Professional Development Seminars will
also be held at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center and will start at 9:30 am and end at 5:00 pm. They will be conducted by industry leaders. These seminars will assist you in preparation for the career
fair and your own professional development. Business
casual dress is acceptable for the seminars.

III.
Extra Credit/Attendance may be offered
by some of your professors for attending the Professional Development Seminars. In order to verify your attendance, YOU MUST fill out a Scantron at each
seminar. Professors
will be the sole determinant of whether you receive credit. (Attachment 3: Attendance Instructions)
IV.
Company Overview and Available Positions: It
is important for students to research the various companies that will be attending especially if you plan on interviewing. Companies attending and job descriptions can be found on Handshake under CAREER EXPO XL. Handshake has an App that you can download.

V.
CAREER
EXPO will be after the Professional
Development Programs from 5:30pm-7:30pm
in the Big Ten rooms of the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center.
VI.
Student Registration will be held in the
Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center South Lobby. You MUST check-in in
order to enter CAREER EXPO. You may check-in anytime
during the day.
VII.
Interviews will be held on Wednesday,
November 7 at Spartan Stadium, Huntington
Club, on the 4th floor. Plan accordingly
for multiple 30-minute interviews.
VIII.
Dress Code: The School of Hospitality
Business expects students to be in Business Professional Dress (suits) for CAREER EXPO 5:30pm-7:30pm.
IX.
Parking: Parking will be limited at
both the Kellogg Center and Spartan Stadium. Be sure to arrive early or car pool!
X.
