POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of International Business (School of Business) at the George Washington University invites applications for a specialized, non tenure track, renewable Teaching Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor position in International Business beginning as early as academic year 2019-20.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS

We are seeking candidates to teach a selection of courses including required introductory courses surveying international business and the global environment for business, as well as upper level electives in areas of the faculty member’s expertise.  Examples include topics related to international finance, international management, international marketing, and international strategy at the undergraduate level and graduate levels.  Candidate must be willing to offer courses in a wide variety of formats, including face-to-face, online, and experiential/study abroad formats.  This full-time position requires regular engagement with students outside of the classroom, including holding regular office hours, as well as participation in department and School of Business committees.  All GWSB faculty members must also engage in professional development activities to ensure that they remain professionally qualified based on AACSB standards for faculty qualifications.

 

Basic Qualifications: Doctorate in field relevant to International Business, such as economics, management, finance, business strategy or other related field is required by date of appointment.  Applicants must also demonstrate teaching effectiveness as indicated by teaching evaluations, peer reviews and/or letters of recommendation.

Candidates invited for campus interviews will be asked to provide an example PowerPoint lecture slide deck and an example assignment/exam that corresponds to the submitted course syllabus.  Only complete applications will be considered.
