PhD student positions in Strategic Management and Organizational Behavior at Wayne State University, Michigan, US.

The Management PhD program in the Mike Ilitch School of Business invites applications for multiple PhD student positions within the field of Strategic Management and Organizational Behavior, starting in September 2019. The Management Department has a rigorous program for students who are inspired to be recognized as academic experts and a strong desire to positively influence their disciplines. The PhD program is comprised of four years of full-time study with the optional fifth year. The admitted student is offered a financial support package, which includes a tuition waiver and a monthly stipend. A full-time dedication to study and research is expected. With more than a decade of program tradition, our graduated students are placed in graduate degree granting universities.

The Department of Management is composed of 10 tenured and tenure-track faculty members. The department has a strong research culture and collaborative atmosphere. Pursuing a wide variety of impactful research streams, our faculties have published in top-tier journals including Journal of Applied Psychology, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management, and Harvard Business Review. Our faculty members have served on numerous editorial boards including Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Academy of Management Journal, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Group and Organization Management, and Journal of Managerial Psychology.

Established in 1946, the business school was renamed in 2015 in recognition of a $40 million gift from Mike and Marian Ilitch. In the Summer of 2018, the business school moved into a new state-of-the-art building in the heart of the District Detroit. Along with Detroit’s growing economy, enrollment at the Mike Ilitch School of Business has increased by 30 percent over the last three years and hired more than 10 new faculty members with strong research background.
