Subject: JOB ANNOUNCEMENTS POSTED--Fishery Management Specialist
To: _NMFS GAR All <[log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>>

We have been working for some time to fill a few vacancies in SFD. Today, we are happy to announce that both vacancy announcements posted, and we are recruiting three positions in SFD. We are recruiting at the Band II and Band III levels for both vacancy announcements. The Band II positions have non-competitive promotion potential to the Band III level. The announcements are different, as explained below, and both close on Monday, July 23, 2018.

Ecosystem-Based Fishery Management Position
We are very excited for this one! As EBFM continues to develop, we will create a new position that will serve as our EBFM specialist. This person will work closely within GARFO, with the Center, the Councils, and Headquarters as we implement the regional EBFM road map. This position will still have some other responsibilities for an FMP(s), similar to our current fishery management specialists and policy analysts; however, the primary responsibility will be SFD’s representative on all things EBFM.

Fishery Management Specialist
This is our typical Band II or Band III position working on various FMPs in the division. Technically, these vacancies are intended to backfill for Brett Alger and Reid Litchwell; however, as always, there is potential and opportunities for specific FMP duties to shuffle during a transition period.
