The Department of Management and International Business, at the University of Auckland, seeks to make the following two appointments in International Business:

1.     Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in International Business, permanent.

We are seeking a candidate who will develop and disseminate knowledge, ideas and theories in the area of international business.

2.     Lecturer/Senior Lecture in International Business (with a specialization in International Entrepreneurship and Innovation), 3 year fixed term appointment.

We are seeking a candidate who will develop and disseminate knowledge, ideas and theories in the area of international business, with a specific focus on international entrepreneurship and innovation.

The successful candidates will join a vibrant group who are responsible for an undergraduate major in international business and post-graduate teaching including PhD supervision.

The successful candidates will have:

·         A PhD in a relevant discipline

·         A commitment to developing a research programme that complements the priorities of the Business School

·         A track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals

·         Experience in innovative teaching practices (e.g. online/blended) and teaching post-experience students, with an openness to new pedagogies

·         Ability to contribute to curriculum design.

The Department of Management and International Business

Located in the “state of the art”, purpose-built Owen G Glenn Building, the Business School is ideally positioned as a national hub for academia, business and government. It impacts well over 12,000 individuals each year through its academic programmes, executive development courses, and the courses and programmes it operates with its partner organisations such as The New Zealand Leadership Institute, The ICEHOUSE and Velocity.

The Department of Management and International Business is one of eight departments in the Business School, which is accredited by AACSB International, EQUIS and AMBA. The Business School is the leading business school in New Zealand, with a strong commitment to high quality teaching and research, and well developed networks in New Zealand’s business community and in international research networks.

The Department of Management and International Business currently spans international business, international management, strategic management, innovation and entrepreneurship, organisational behaviour, organisation theory, human resource management and employment relations, and the broader domains of business, society and culture and Maori business development.  The Department offers three undergraduate majors in the Faculties of Business and Economies and the Faculty of Arts. It offers a full suite of degree programmes, including Honours, Masters and PhD, at the graduate level, and has a particularly strong PhD programme.  It is a large department with more than 800 full-time equivalent students and with 35 full-time equivalent academic staff including eight professors and eight associate professors.
