The farm bill is a multi-year law that governs an array of agricultural and food programs. A new farm bill is being debated right now that will impact access to healthy, local foods.
The webinar will provide an overview of the Farm Bill, illustrate the impact on Michigan agriculture and help you dive into advocacy strategies to get you and your community engaged in this important federal policy process.
The webinar is free and open to the public.

About the Presenter:
Lindsey Scalera is the Sustainable Food Program Director at the Ecology Center. Lindsey works closely with partners throughout the state and nationally to cultivate opportunities for the healthcare sector and community food systems to collaboratively
address food insecurity and healthier food environments. Lindsey got her start in food systems as co-founder of the Giving Garden an co-founder of the Michigan Young Farmer Coalition while earning her Master's Degree in Social Foundations of Education, specializing
in EcoJustice Education from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to joining the Ecology Center, Lindsey was a Grassroots Organizer for the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition, where she worked to elevate the voices of Michigan farmers and food systems
advocates around federal farm and food policy.
