Dear Colleague:

We would like to invite you to participate in the January 6-16, 2019 faculty development program: China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), hosted by the University of Colorado Denver.

The program will visit Shanghai, Hangzhou, Dunhuang, and Hong Kong.  It will examine

·         How BRI is creating connectivity and cooperation among China and as many as 70 countries

·         How BRI is opening new markets and sources of supply and raw materials for Chinese companies

·         What roles the Chinese government, Silk Road Fund, and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank will play in financing the massive projects

·         How BRI will influence and impact the competitive positions of China and the US in the global economy.

The program brochure and additional information can be found at http://www.ucdenver.edu/academics/internationalprograms/CIBER/Faculty/ChinaFDIB/Pages/ChinaFDIB.aspx.

The program fee, based on single occupancy, is $5000.  It includes hotel, most meals, tours and transportation in China; it does not include travel to/from Asia, passport and visa fees, etc.  Very limited partial scholarships may be available for US faculty who have never been to China, haven’t participated on a CIBER foreign faculty development program, and who teach at a designated Minority Serving Institution or Community College.  Applications may be submitted at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Apply2019ChinaFDIB.

This program is hosted in part by the U.S. Department of Education through its Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBERs).
