Call for expressions of interest for a Full Professorship in Analytical Intelligence for Management

The Department of Management at Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia invites expressions of interest for a position of Full Professor in Analytical Intelligence for Management (AIM). The strategic goal is to engage with the challenges and the tools associated with the digital revolution.

The AIM Professor will provide leadership in creating a new field of study and will contribute to building an internationally recognized research and education environment. He or she will be given direct responsibility in the recruitment of two tenure-track positions eligible for promotion to Associate Professor after three years. The AIM Professor is expected to maintain international standards of scholarship with publications in top-tier journals and to work closely with graduate students and other faculty members. He or she will teach courses in English in the general area of business analytics and related fields, as well as attend to organizational activities in the department.

JOB QUALIFICATION:

Successful candidates must hold a doctoral degree in a relevant domain and have a research and teaching record consistent with a tenured associate or full professor at a major university. Candidates with a record of externally-funded research (e.g., grant funding) are strongly preferred. We are particularly interested in candidates who can work collaboratively with faculty members and graduate students to enhance our research programs. Fluency in Italian is desirable but not required.

ABOUT US:

After having been selected as a “centre of excellence” for the 2018-2022 period by the Italian Government, the Department of Management has been granted close to 7 million euros for a targeted plan, including the three positions mentioned in this advert and performance-related pay awards.

The Department offers English-taught degrees at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels. The standard teaching load for a Professor is 120 academic hours per year. The academic calendar is arranged over four terms, leaving ample space for research and international networking. The department offers an excellent research environment including travel support, a bonus plan for high-quality output, an active seminar series, and doctoral fellowships.

USEFUL INFORMATION:

The appointment will be made at the full professor level, taking into account the candidate's experience and record. The gross salary will be determined on a personal basis, according to the Italian Law (see D.M. 232/2011). Individuals moving their fiscal residence to Italy may benefit of significant tax exemptions for up to four years. Appointment will take place at the earliest mutual convenience and, in any case, no later than September 2019.

LOCATION:

The Department of Management is located in the historical city of Venice, within walking distance from the railway station and less than 30’ away from the Marco Polo airport, with direct flights to more than 50 countries.
