Lecturer in International Management (x2)
Institute for International Management
Loughborough University London Campus
Job reference: REQ180251
Created in 2017, the Institute for International Management at Loughborough
University's London Campus, is a home for multi-disciplinary analysis of management in international context. As it grows over the next few years, the Institute will tackle a number of substantive areas of international management. A part of the agenda will
be understanding the nature of work in comparative perspective, while another part will be cross-national analysis of corporate governance. A key aim of the Institute is to build expertise in emerging economies, with this being reflected both in our teaching
and research. A key aspect of our research agenda is to study the internationalisation of firms from emerging economies.
The Institute will launch an MSc in International Management in September
2018, with the programme being informed both by the growing competencies of the Institute and the expertise within the School of Business and Economics within the main campus in Loughborough. The following year we will launch three related MScs which will
allow students to specialise in our themes of work, governance and emerging economies.
We seek to make
two appointments at Lecturer level. The successful candidate will be expected to plan, develop and teach postgraduate courses in International Management and related areas. Applicants will hold a doctorate (or be very close to being awarded one) and
should either have a record of publications in high-quality journals or be able to credibly demonstrate the potential to do so. Ideally, the successful applicant will have research relating to the themes of work and governance cross-nationally or bring expertise
in emerging economies. He or she will also be expected to supervise higher degree research students, to attract external research funding and to interact with a range of relevant external stakeholders. He or she will help us develop partnerships with universities
in other countries and engage with a range of stakeholders (firms, governments, regulators, professional bodies) in relevant countries. He or she will be required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with academic and technical staff,
and postgraduate students and have excellent communication skills in both written and oral English.
