Theme:  Shaping the Future of Africa: From Talking Problems to Acting Solutions

The 2018 African Graduate Students Association (AGSA) Conference is put together by African graduate students at Michigan State University. The 3rd annual conference will converge African graduate and undergraduate students, faculty/staff members, development organizations, and opinion leaders from across the mid-West and generally, from the US. Participation is open to non-Africans. The conference has two segments. The first part will provide a space for selected paper/poster presentations from across disciplines, showcasing how and what Africans and Africanist scholars are doing to transform Africa through research and other activities. Building on the presentations and the bigger picture, the second segment will provide a conversational space for small and large group discussions, aimed at unbundling and proffering solutions to some of the major development challenges facing Africa. Consistent with the theme of the conference, working groups will be formed to initiate and implement ideas and solutions from the discussions.

Please submit an abstract of not more than 250 words explaining your presentations/poster through msu[log in to unmask].

The deadline for submissions is 11 PM, March 16, 2018. Accepted abstracts will be notified by March 20.

A committee will judge the presentations/posters during the conference symposium and award a range of prizes.
