Paper Development Workshop
April 10-11, 2018
In collaboration with the
University of Essex, Essex Business School
&
British Academy of Management, International Business/International Management Special Interest Group
The Journal of World Business (JWB) will be hosting a paper development workshop (PDW) at the University of Essex, Essex Business
School Southend Campus. The workshop will begin with a reception on the evening of April 10, followed by a full day workshop on April 11. There is no cost to attend the workshop, which will include the April 10 reception and breakfast and lunch on April 11.
Participants will be responsible for their own transportation and lodging.
The purpose of the PDW is to provide developmental feedback to scholars and doctoral students on research projects that are at relatively advanced stages of development, and encourage them to further develop
quality research papers on issues that are of relevance to JWB. While we certainly hope that the authors will develop their work and submit the resulting papers to
JWB, participation in the PDW does not create an obligation to do so.
The workshop will be led by the Journal of World Business senior editorial team of Co- Editors-in-Chief Jonathan Doh and David
Collings, Deputy Editor Ajai Gaur, and Senior Editor Ulf Andersson, along with other established scholars from JWB’s editorial team and BAM International Business/International Management Special Interest Group. The workshop will include presentations by senior
scholars on publishing strategies and techniques, followed by in-depth feedback on selected papers.
Submission Instructions:
We encourage authors to submit their original work under two categories: full-length papers (maximum of 10,000 words) and
“idea” papers (maximum of 2,000 words). Papers that have previously been submitted to
JWB that were not been successful in the review process, or other journals, are welcome for the PDW. We can accommodate up to about 30 papers for this event.
Please submit your papers in word format by February 28 to Ajai Gaur ([log in to unmask]).
Please name the file by the last name and first name of the participating author. Decisions and information on lodging options and logistics will be conveyed to applicants by March 3.
