The Michigan Wildlife Risk Mitigation Program is mandated by the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development to reduce the spread of bovine tuberculosis (TB) from wildlife to cattle in the northeast Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The Bovine TB Biosecurity Technician will develop and monitor the effectiveness of Wildlife Risk Mitigation Action Plans on farms and coordinate the construction of risk reduction projects that will be cost-shared through the District. The Technician will also participate in team assessments of high risk cattle farms and provide recommendations and alternatives for risk reduction. The work will be performed under the supervision of the Alpena-Montmorency Conservation District Board of Directors and District Manager, and monitored by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
