WAIB Emerging Scholar Award Purpose : The WAIB Emerging Scholar Award goes to a female AIB junior scholar for recognition of her high-quality research in any international business discipline. Preference may be given to high-quality research on women and gender in international business, but this is absolutely not a requirement. Criteria : To qualify as a junior scholar , the nominee must be either a current doctoral student or have received her Ph.D. within 5 years of the year of the award (e.g. the degree must have been received any time in 2012 or later for the 2018 award ). The awardee must be a member of WAIB . Neither paper acceptance nor physical presence at the upcoming AIB Annual Meeting is required. Process : To be considered, the female junior scholar must be nominated by another WAIB member. Nominations must include a 1-page single-spaced statement of why the nominee deserves to win the award , including the nominee’s affiliation, email address, and a list of her publications and scholarly work. Submissions must be sent to the President of WAIB , Malika Richards at [ mailto:[log in to unmask] | [log in to unmask] ] using the subject heading "WAIB Emerging Scholar Award" by January 1st, 2018. A committee will evaluate nominations and may contact finalists for their curriculum vitae and a sample research paper. The winner and runners up will be announced at the upcoming AIB Annual Meeting in July and through all WAIB electronic communications: WAIB -L listserv, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Winners will also receive a paper certificate suitable for framing (in person at the annual meeting, or via email).
