The International Business Division and Centre for International Business at University of Leeds (CIBUL) (https://business.leeds.ac.uk/research-and-innovation/research-centres/cibul/) is currently inviting applications for the above positions.

Members of CIBUL produce state-of-the-art research at the forefront of international business academia and practice, and their work has been acknowledged globally for its quality and impact.

CIBUL research focuses on the following subject domains:

  *   Theory of the multinational enterprise
  *   Conflict and litigation in international business
  *   FDI in and from emerging economies such as China and India
  *   International strategy and firm competitiveness

  *   Cross-cultural management and language
  *   Corporate governance in the international firm
  *   Global innovation
  *   Methodological approaches in international business research

The International Business Division contributes to the full range of Leeds University Business School’s programmes including BSc International Business, BSc International Business and Finance, BSc International Business and Marketing and MSc International Business. We also provide PhD opportunities and funding for high quality doctoral candidates.

What will an Associate Professor bring to the role?
As Associate Professor in International Business you will have:
• A PhD in Business, Economics, Management or a closely related discipline;
• An international reputation, including a sustained track record of raising research funds from national and international funding agencies;
• A proven track record of high quality research, as evidenced by research in a related field with a proven track record of achievement as an author or refereed publications (equivalent to be listed as A and A- journals internationally, or 4* and 3* in the UK);
• Significant experience of teaching effectively at all levels within higher education, including module and programme design, review and development;
• Experience of supervising taught undergraduate or postgraduate students;
• Outstanding communication, team working, networking and profile-raising skills to operate effectively within the role; including experience of collaboration on cross-disciplinary projects;
• Proven ability to provide academic leadership, including managing resources and/or staff;
• Evidence of the ability to build trust to ensure engagement and commitment, and to treat staff fairly, with respect and dignity.

What will a Lecturer bring to the role?

As Lecturer in International Business you will have:
• A PhD in Business, Management, Economics or a closely related discipline;
• A track record of publications in refereed journals commensurate with a 3* or 4* rating as defined by the REF and as evidenced by metrics such as the Association of Business Schools journal quality list, the FT45 list or other equivalent source;
• A successful record of obtaining external research funding with the potential for obtaining further funding in the future;
• The ability to contribute to and develop interdisciplinary collaborative research projects in a broad range of areas;
• A proven record of teaching in a university environment, with an enthusiastic approach to teaching international business and the ability to interact with students in ways that will enhance the student experience;
• Experience of proactively developing new teaching approaches and materials in the area of international business;
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate with peers and inspire your research colleagues;
• The ability to contribute to management and administrative processes and structures, including managing resources and/or staff.

What will a Senior Teaching Fellow bring to the role?
As a Senior Teaching Fellow in International Business you will have:
• A Masters Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Management, Economics, or a related discipline;
• A proven record of teaching in a University environment, with an enthusiastic approach to teaching international business and the ability to interact with students in ways that will enhance the student experience;
• Teaching that reflects professional development and engagement with the relevant discipline;
• The ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of technology enhanced learning;
• Experience of proactively developing new teaching approaches and materials;
• Experience of providing support and guidance to students;
• Evidence of proactive and scholarly academic engagement in the relevant academic activity;
• The ability to work across disciplines, establishing effective working relationships;
• A high level of interpersonal and communication skills;
• Demonstrable creativity and the ability to inspire others;
• The ability to work under pressure and deal with conflicting demands;
• The ability to work evenings and weekends.
