Assistant Professor of International Business
The Jack C. Massey College of Business at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2018.

This position is a full time, 10-month faculty position with responsibilities for teaching, advising, service, and scholarly activity. The successful candidate will be expected to actively support the college mission to prepare students for the dynamic global economy and support the initiatives of the Center for International Business.

Essential Job Functions

  *   Design and teach 18-24 hours of International Business courses at the MBA and BBA levels; including study abroad experiences.
  *   Advise and mentor students with respect to matriculation, course selection, research and other class-related projects.
  *   Engage in activities to support the mission and vision of Belmont University, the Jack C. Massey College of Business and Department
  *   Engage in scholarly activity and professional development.
  *   Engage in departmental and interdepartmental collaboration to benefit the program, college, university and students.
  *   Participate in departmental and university governance and committee work as appropriate.

Qualifications and Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  *   Advanced knowledge of principles, methods and current developments in the field of international business.
  *   An ability to teach International Business, and one or more of the following courses: International Management, International Market Entry or International Strategic Management.
  *   A working knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques.
  *   Ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate both undergraduate and graduate students.
  *   Ability and interest in producing high quality scholarship that impacts the development of international business.
  *   Skills in the use of computers and Internet resources in instruction, research and day-to-day work.
  *   Ability to learn relevant sections of Belmont University’s online integrated database systems for student records management.
  *   Ability to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.
  *   Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
  *   Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  *   Ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses.
  *   Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.
  *   Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Experience
Teaching experience is strongly preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with professional international management and international market entry experience.

Education
A Ph.D. or significant progress toward a terminal degree in International Business from an AACSB accredited institution is required.
