Basic Purpose of the Position*

Contribute to the development of new and existing vaccines in project teams, as appropriate to the role and required by the business. Planning and execution of scientific research at all stages of product development for registration of poultry viral vaccines according to GXP and other relevant guidelines to ensure acceptance of studies by Chinese authorities and EMEA.

Accountabilities*

·         Work with a group of scientists in the area of poultry vaccine research and development

·         Design and timely executes research studies on the basis of literature analyses generally, perform experiments in realm of virology and clinical trials without supervision.

·         70% time focused in the lab for wet-bench work, 30% on training, designing and documentation.

·         Design and establish project timeline, plan realistic milestones at different stages of project development and deliver on aggressive project timelines.

·         Closely and efficiently communicate with different function core teams and be accountable to keep the timeline on track to move project forward.

·         Train technicians and junior scientist in all areas of scientific/laboratory operations, such that they perform as expected.

·         Involved actively in team discussions, write protocols, reports and technical documents suitable for regulatory submission in a timely manner.

·         Support Regulatory Affairs for dossier compilations, submissions, answering regulatory questions and oral hearings

·         Contribute to the intellectual property estate of BI by initiating of and contributing to patent filings

·         Development of robust and precise processes and SOPs for planning and execution of research studies according to all relevant guidelines to ensure acceptance of studies by Chinese authorities and EMEA

·         Ensure preparation of appropriate documentation for regulatory purposes

Required Capabilities (Skills, Experience, Competencies)

·         In Microbiology, Virology, Veterinary Science or related field with additional of a minimum 3+ years for Ph.D and 8+ years for M.S., of demonstrated post-graduate work experience, or M.S.

·         Good record track of scientific expertise in relevant field (Virology, Veterinary Science, or other relevant disciplines). Experience in Poultry viruses or next-generation vaccine research is strongly preferred. Extensive hands-on vaccine experience is a plus.

·         Attention to details, good discipline in documentation, demonstrable good organizing skills as well as good team player is a must, proven ability for working in interdisciplinary teams is a plus

·         Excellence in experiment design and problem solving are essential

·         Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese are essential

·         Ability to prioritize with multi-tasks complex

·         Good interpersonal skills

·         Good communication and presentation skills
