for students interested in community engagement opportunities:
Please share with students! Community Engagement Orientation Friday October 20th 2017 12:30pm – 2:00pm Location: Room 6, Student Services Building
The Center for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement strives to create an atmosphere where Spartans can learn, grow and engage in the local community. Our new Community Engagement Orientation program is designed for all Spartan students to gain a better understanding of what becoming an engaged citizen means.
The Community Engagement Orientation will…
· Connect you with resources and online tools that will assist in matching you with volunteer opportunities! · Discuss professionalism, on-site expectations, and what it means to be a T-Shaped student! · Answer your questions as you venture out into the community to serve! For some of you this may be your first time in community engagement through service work. We want to help prepare you for this transition and get you excited about the possibilities that await you!
Sign up now for the orientation session by clicking here. Your journey to service begins now! The event is capped at 40 students, so register quickly.
Lunch will be provided!
