*Farmers Market at the Capitol to be Held This Thursday, August 24* The Michigan Farmers Market Association (MIFMA) will host the second of three Farmers Markets at the Capitol on Thursday, August 24 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The market will be held on the East Lawn of the Michigan State Capitol Building in Downtown Lansing. The last event will be held on Thursday, September 21. At the August market, shoppers can visit more than 70 vendors from across the state who sell Michigan-grown and produced products ranging from fresh fruit and vegetables to flowers, meat, cheese, baked goods, prepared foods and much more. In addition, shoppers can join Michigan State University Corporate Chef, Kurt Kwiatkowski as he conducts cooking demonstrations; using fresh, seasonal produce at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Cooking demonstrations are sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
