The  Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University in   Metro  Vancouver,  British Columbia, invites outstanding applicants in the fields of Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Beedie School of Business welcomes applications for the following positions:

 

Keith Beedie Chair in Innovation & Entrepreneurship

The Keith Beedie Chair is accountable for providing academic leadership that delivers high-quality research and teaching, and attracts and nurtures excellent researchers and graduate students. The selected candidate will actively engage in a range of activities at the SFU Charles Chang Innovation Centre (CCIC), a state-of-the-art facility in downtown Vancouver that provides a dedicated idea-generation space to foster innovation and entrepreneurial startups. The Keith Beedie Chair is also expected to significantly advance SFU Beedie’s strategic research initiative in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, and to initiate and cultivate new research collaboration platforms with forward-thinking universities from abroad.

 

Lecturer or Assistant Professor in Innovation & Entrepreneurship

The successful candidate for the lecturer position will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in entrepreneurship and innovation. Potential undergraduate courses include Introduction to Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Foundations of Innovation and Startup Experience. At the graduate level, there are possibilities for teaching in entrepreneurship, innovation and commercialization. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. in entrepreneurship or a related field. Industry experience related to innovation and/ or entrepreneurship, social innovation or incubation would be an asset. Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration would also be an asset. The candidate will be expected to have an interest in scholarship and to actively participate in service to the university community.

 

The successful candidate for the tenure-track position must demonstrate: the ability to conduct high-quality, scholarly research; teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, with a potential to teach the MBAs, Ph.D.s, and executives; as well as teamwork and leadership abilities. A Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship, Innovation or a closely related area is required by August 2018. Research interests consistent with Beedie’s strategic

priorities of innovation, socially responsible and sustainable business, and globalization and emerging markets will be valued. Candidates who seek to engage with communities and make an impact through their research will be a good fit with the School’s research culture. Relevant industry experience relating to startups, social innovation, venture capital investment and commercialization would be valued.
