Annual Community Garden Tours

Wednesday, July 19  5:00 – 8:00pm

We welcome all to join us as we explore the local community gardens that make our Lansing neighborhoods unique. Guided bus, biking and walking tours will feature the stories, people, plants and food of new and established gardens. The evening will begin at the Resource Center (2401 Marcus St) with a welcome reception at 5:00. Light food and refreshments will be served. Guided tours begin promptly at 6:00.

 

Bike Tour
Gardens:  

ICLB Gardens on Prospect & Mifflin + Slater Park Community Garden + Feeding Hope Garden + Hunter Park Garden House

For those participating in the bike tour, the Lansing Bike Co-op will be at the Resource Center to pump up your tires and grease your chains before departure, helping make sure your ride is safe and smooth! 

 

Bus Tour
Gardens:  

GP Demo Garden + Southside Community Coalition Garden + Averill Woods School & Community Garden +  Webster Farm

 

Walking Tour
The tour will feature a variety of GLFB Garden Project and Ingham County Land Bank gardens that support individuals, families and entrepreneurial projects that are increasing our community’s access to healthy food. 

 

After the conclusion of the tours, participants and supporters are invited to Zoobie’s Tavern in Old Town for a Garden Tour After-Party, from 8-11pm.

We hope to see you there! Due to limited seats, please RSVP to [log in to unmask] if you plan to attend the bus tour. For the walking and biking tours, RSVP is optional but we would appreciate hearing from you. Our bus is generously donated by Dean Transportation

 

There is no fee for the event, but we gratefully accept donations!
