The Michigan Family Farms Conference, hosted by Michigan Food and Farming Systems, is a forum for beginning, small-scale and culturally diverse farmers to network, learn and build sustainable family farms. Celebrating its 15th year in 2018, the conference has become a resource for connecting farmers from across the state. The 2018 conference will be held:

February 3rd, 2018

Kalamazoo Valley Community College

Kalamazoo, MI

Past presentations have covered a wide range of topics, including business planning, funding, soil management, crop-specific workshops, food justice, pest control, food safety, and a host of others. Our presenters come from all sides of farming -- Farmers, conservation specialists, entrepreneurs, policy experts, educators, and more. Farming has many faces, and we want to represent every one of them.

The deadline for proposals is July 31, 2017. All complete proposals submitted by that date will be considered. However, space is limited and sessions will be selected based on:

Presentation content and objectives
Relevance to small and mid-sized farms
Relevance to beginning farmers
Relevance to historically underserved farmers
Overall fit with other presentations
Know someone who would give a great presentation? Send them the proposal form!
