“Knowledge Society, Culture, and Knowledge Systems”- Minitrack, HICSS-51
The purpose of our minitrack is to explore the impact and role of culture on managing knowledge
and designing and implementing knowledge systems within groups and organizations. As noted by
Castelfranchi and Paglieri (2007)
a knowledge society generates, processes, shares, and makes available to all members knowledge that may be used to improve the current state. Our minitrack
covers broad issues related to culture (sub-cultures and national cultures) and knowledge management and systems. In today's dynamic and complex environment where data, big data and data analytics are so central extracting and managing germane and pertinent
knowledge has never been more essential. To do this effectively one must also consider systems and cultures. These are all central aspects of the proposed mini track. We are open to all methodological and theoretical approaches and welcome papers as well
as research-in-progress papers from researchers and practitioners from various disciplines.
Potential topics in our minitrack may include, but are not limited to:
Castelfranchi C., Paglieri F (2007).
The role of beliefs in goal dynamics: Prolegomena to a constructive theory of intentions
SYNTHESE, vol. 155 pp. 237 - 263.
