Call for Book Chapters

To be included in a book entitled:

“MARITIME MANAGEMENT: TRADE, SUPPLY CHAIN AND SECURITY”

This is a call for expressions of interest for chapter submissions for an edited book entitled: ‘Maritime Management: Trade, Supply Chain and Security’. You are invited to send an abstract of around 300-500 words to be considered in the book to the editor-in-chief, Dr. Muhammad Subhan (Head of Maritime and Port Management Studies), by 25 May 2017. At this stage, the publisher (UUM Press, Malaysia) has expressed initial interest in publishing this book. The publisher, however, will make their decision after reviewing a final draft of the manuscript including the proposed chapters. It is envisaged that final completed chapters (book final draft) would be submitted by the editor-in-chief to the publisher by 12 March 2018.

The length of chapter will be a maximum of 8,000 words (not including references). Chapters must not have been published or submitted elsewhere for any consideration for publication. Previous presented conference papers or unpublished thesis are welcome after necessary revisions from its original version.


Objective of the book:

Accordingly, this call for book chapters will assemble an edited collection of chapters on maritime management issues in trade, supply chain and security in Asia. The main objective of the book is to provide comprehensive evidence of research, case studies, practical and theoretical papers on the issues and challenges surrounding maritime management and their practical implications. The book will serve as a valuable resource for government officials, academics, researchers, consultants, students and other concerned parties whose works are related to maritime management.


Target Audience:

This book will be a useful reference for academics, students, policy-makers and professionals in the fields of international business and trade, port management, logistics and supply chain, economic planning, spatial planning, maritime security, sea transportation, environmental management, law at the sea and general aspects of maritime management.

Abstract and Manuscript Submission Information

Academics, researchers, policymakers, post-graduate students, scholars and practitioners are invited to submit their abstract by 25 May 2017. Authors of accepted abstract will be notified within 14 working days on the status of their proposals. For successful authors, the draft of full chapter should be submitted to the editor-in-chief by 12 September 2017 and final draft should be received by the editor-in-chief by 12 January 2018. Full chapters should range maximum of 8,000 words in length. All submitted chapters will undergo a thorough review process after passing the plagiarism check.
