Allen Neighborhood Center offers outstanding opportunities for students to increase their knowledge of community organizing and the non-profit sector through a wide array of focus areas.
All internships work to increase knowledge of community resources, view social justice issues first-hand, and utilize communication skills with a diverse population. We are happy to offer credit/non-credit positions for interns. While internships are unpaid, we offer valuable professional development experience.
- Exchange Internship for Summer 2017. The Exchange (food hub) connects local farmers and food producers with commercial buyers (grocers, restaurants, schools, hospitals, individuals buying in bulk, etc.), and offers growers and food producers with a variety of business-related workshops. - Hunter Park GardenHouse Internship for Summer 2017. The GardenHouse serves as a hub for year-round farm & garden education through the operation of a year-round CSA program and workshop series. For more information, click here.
- Youth Programs Internship for Summer 2017. Our Youth Programs are free and provide job and life skills, gardening and nutrition education. Take Root Garden Club (ages 5-10) is held Tuesday & Thursday, 10am-12pm, and Youth Service Corps (ages 11-17) is held Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10am-12pm, along with a farmers market shift on Wednesday from 2:30-7pm.
