Events in the Asian Countries and Asian Diasporas

The influences of events are increasing across the world. People are especially visiting a place to see, enjoy and to learn from events. This proposed book should be a unique contribution towards understanding events in the Asian diasporas. The book will have particular focus on the Asian events aligning with tourism. Scope of this proposed book will include both  Asian countries and  Asian diasporas. Events become an essential feature in creating a distinct image of a destination. The modification of events is arguably phenomenal over the years in many parts of the world.  However,  Asian countries offer a distinctive perspective in terms of events particularly in the context of tourism. This is almost difficult to ignore the increasing importance of events in this part of the world.  Along with traditional events, the growing charm of relatively newer event types covering film festivals, literature festivals, food festivals in the  Asian countries is a fascination for tourists. The editors have meticulously observed a blend of traditional events with the newer forms in  Asian Countries and  Asian diasporas. This book will accommodate case studies from the  Asian countries and  Asian diasporas.  However, the book will also welcome some conceptual chapters. The book will have attention on challenges of event organisation in the rural  Asian countries. Moreover, the book will also concentrate on issues related to wider context of events (i.e. local culture, traditional songs, dances, the importance of events for the rural people, how the innovations in information technology can promote events, guidelines to prepare strategies to promote and market events etc.). As expected, not only the academicians and researchers will take interest into this upcoming book but also the tourism organisations and in general the tourists will also like to read it. 

We seek potential chapter authors for this upcoming edited book project. We welcome contributions covering the following areas but not limited to these:

Chapters should be maximum 6,000 words including references. Chapters can be either case study or theoretical/empirical research. At this stage, the editors like to receive chapter abstract of 250-300 words including author details. Chapter abstract submission deadline is March 18, 2017.
