Brief Description

In recent years, Mobile Financial Services (MFS) has emerged as a topic of increasing importance for both academics and practitioners. Largely developed and provided by financial institutions, either by themselves or in collaboration with FinTech or startups, MFS offer consumers the seamless proximity, freedom and convenience of anytime anywhere banking and payment services. MFS enable customers to conduct transactions ranging from payments to investments on portable devices such as cell phones and tablets, using methods such as SMS or downloadable applications.

The aim of this book is to offer a global perspective on factors affecting the adoption and use of fast emerging MFS and technologies from a user perspective, based on current in-depth empirical research. As well as technical innovations, the book will address legislative issues and cutting edge research and analysis of the use of mobile devices for banking and payment purposes.

As well as academics and researchers, the book will be a must-read for bankers, regulators, policy makers and startups with an interest in mobile-based financial information systems and applications. Content will include mobile commerce, mobile banking, mobile payments, mobile wallet, branchless banking and Omni-channels.
