University of North Carolina at Greensboro, starting August 1, 2017.

The Department of Management in the Bryan School of Business & Economics at
the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) invites applications,
expressions of interest, and nominations for a new full-time opening in
Management. The position will commence on August 1, 2017, at the rank of
assistant (tenure-track) or associate professor (tenured)



Applicants should hold a PhD degree with a specialization in International
Business,  Organizational Behavior (not Human Resources), or Strategy from
an AACSB accredited business school. ABDs who are assured of completion by
August 1, 2017, may be considered.



Applicants from the International Business area should have a focus on
cross-cultural and multicultural management topics.  Those from the
Organizational Behavior area should have a demonstrated interest in such
topics as organizational change, negotiations, ethics, leader behaviors,
and decision-making in organizations. Those from the Strategy area should
have a demonstrated interest in international strategy and innovation
topics.  Related teaching experience and evidence of successful
high-quality refereed journal scholarship are preferred (required for
associate professor candidates).  The ability to tie one’s teaching and
research to key elements of our mission (problem solving, innovation,
globalization, sustainability, and ethics) and an interest in working with
student consulting projects will be considered positively.



The Department of Management offers two majors, in International Business,
and Business Administration with concentrations in Business Studies
(online) and Human Resources, and contributes to delivering the
undergraduate business core and the MBA program. Teaching online courses is
a requirement for the position. A Master's in International Business degree
and a PhD program are currently being considered. Our faculty members are
very active in research and in the past five years have published in such
journals as *Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Learning
& Education, Human Relations, Industrial & Organizational Psychology,
Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of International Business Studies,
Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Leadership Quarterly,
and Strategic Management Journal, *to name a few.



The Bryan School has over 3,800 undergraduate and graduate students and
more than 100 full- and part-time faculty members housed in six departments
and programs. Accredited in both business and accounting by AACSB, the
Bryan School is the recipient of many rankings, honors and accolades. The
faculty and students are both impressive.  For example, in 2015 the faculty
members averaged 2.2 peer reviewed journal articles, published eight books,
and occupied 57 editorial positions with journals (editor, associate
editor, guest editor, or editorial board member).  Students have
traditionally performed well in national and regional competitions.  The
School takes great pride in being the most diverse business school in the

UNCG was one of the three original institutions in the University of North
Carolina system (Chapel Hill and NC State were the others).  Classified as
a high research activity university, UNCG is also committed to high quality
teaching to its more than 19,500 students in seven colleges and schools.



Greensboro is the third largest city in NC with approximately 270,000
people in a MSA of some 1.6 million.  Ideally located in the Piedmont Triad
region of North Carolina, Greensboro is only a few hours from either beach
or mountain.  The city boasts a rapidly developing fine arts center, child
friendly venues and a multitude of outdoor amenities.  With seven higher
education institutions in the immediate area, a large industrial base, and
proximity to the Research Triangle, it is an attractive location for dual
career families.
