19th June 2017
The Asia Academy of Management
(AAOM), in cooperation with the Asia
Pacific Journal of Management (APJM),
is pleased to announce a paper development workshop (PDW) on Monday, 19th
June 2017 (the day of opening reception of the Biennial conference). The PDW
will be held at the Kitakyushu Convention Center, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka,
Japan.
The purpose of the PDW is to provide developmental feedback to
junior scholars and doctoral students on research projects that are in relatively
advanced stages of development. Consistent with the mission of the Asia Academy
of Management, our objective is to encourage scholars to do quality research on
issues that are of particular relevance to Asia. While we certainly hope that
the authors will develop their work and submit the resulting papers to APJM, participation in the PDW does not
create an obligation to do so.
The workshop will be led by Jesper
Edman (Hitotsubashi University) and Elizabeth Rose (University of Otago), with
participants receiving personal feedback from top scholars, including Cuili
Qian (City University of Hong Kong), Hitoshi Mitsuhashi (Keio University),
Tailan Chi (University of Kansas) and Christina Ahmadjian (Hitotsubashi University).
The workshop also plans to feature a meet-the-editors session with Jane Lu,
Editor-in-Chief of Asian Pacific Journal of Management, and Alain Verbeke,
Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Business Studies.
Submission Instructions:
We encourage authors to submit their
original work under two categories: full-length papers (maximum of 8,000 words)
and idea papers (maximum of 2,000 words). Papers that have previously been
submitted to APJM or other journals are
welcome for the PDW. We can accommodate up to 20 papers for this event.
