I don't think anyone is expecting a complete outline of firewall but rather what services are being added to the blocked list. I'm 100% positive the last 2 changes like this included the services and ports affected. -----Original Message----- From: Shillinger, Ashley [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Tuesday, December 20, 2016 11:39 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [MSUNAG] Questions about MSU Perimeter Security Update Occurring Tomorrow, December 20 I think you may want to direct this question to the security team privately ([log in to unmask]). I’m certain it’s not a good practice to outline one’s firewall configurations on a forum. _______________________________________________ Ashley Shillinger Systems & Network Administrator Research Technology Support Facility & Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center Michigan State University Food Safety & Toxicology Building 1129 Farm Lane 165C East Lansing, MI 48824 T: 517-353-6794 F: 517-355-6758 E: [log in to unmask] _______________________________________________ On 12/19/16, 8:50 PM, "STeve Andre'" <[log in to unmask]> wrote: Does anyone know what this entails? Please note, most web-based services (e.g., websites, email) will not be impacted by this change. *What do I need to do?* Use the MSU VPN to access the MSU network from off campus beginning December 20 and advise others to do the same. If these updates cause business disruptions, please submit a firewall request at http://go.msu.edu/uss-firewall detailing the service, how the service is used, the IP addresses affected, and the ports required for access. In the coming months, MSU VPN will be adding two-factor authentication to the MSU VPN login process. *Additional information* MSU VPN: https://vpn.msu.edu MSU VPN Instructions:http://go.msu.edu/it-400645 <https://go.msu.edu/it-400645> Two-Factor Authentication: https://secureit.msu.edu/two-factor/index.html If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the MSU IT Service Desk at (517) 432-6200 or [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
