The Faculty of Applied Economics (AACSB, EFMD, EPAS and NVAO accredited) is seeking to fill the following full-time vacancy in the Department of Management:
Tenured Academic Staff in the area of International Business (assistant professor tenure track)

Job description
[*]       You develop and conduct scientific research in the area of International Business:
·         acquiring and managing (external) research funds (national and international);
·         establishing and executing research projects;
·         supervising PhD students;
·         publishing articles in high ranking international academic journals.
[*]       You will be assigned teaching duties at bachelor’s and master’s level (including the supervision of master theses) especially in our redesigned major “International Business”. Part of your teaching duties can be organized in the full-time master’s programs of the Antwerp Management School. The actual teaching assignment will be determined in close interaction with the successful applicant.
[*]       You will also attend a number of servicing assignments within the department, the faculty and the university.
Profile and requirements
[*]       You hold a doctoral degree (PhD) in Applied Economics or equivalent.
[*]       You demonstrate the potential to perform internationally high quality scientific research in the field of international business, substantiated by
·         an emerging track record of international, peer-reviewed publications
·         contribution to externally funded research projects (national, European, public or private) and
·         participation in international scientific conferences (presentation and/or organization).
[*]       You can demonstrate to have the didactical, organizational and communicative competencies in order to perform excellent academic teaching.
[*]       Experience with international mobility (residing in other universities or research institutes) is recommended.
[*]       The focus in your teaching corresponds to the educational vision of the university<http://www.uantwerp.be/en/education/studying/vision-of-education/>.
[*]       Your academic qualities comply with the requirements stipulated in the university’s policy<http://www.uantwerp.be/en/about-uantwerp/mission-vision/three-core-tasks/research/>.
[*]       You have leadership skills or the potential to develop them.
[*]       You are quality-oriented, conscientious, creative and cooperative.
[*]       You can meet the statutory language requirements for both the knowledge of the teaching language and the administrative language, Dutch. The University of Antwerp provides the necessary support.
We offer
[*]       a dynamic and stimulating work environment;
[*]       a tenure-track position as a lecturer for a term of five years. This position will lead to a tenured position as a senior lecturer upon favorable assessment on the basis of previously set evaluation criteria;
[*]       the date of appointment will be 1 October 2017;
